Code of Conduct

The International Association of Hotels & Travel Agents (IAOHTA) is committed to building a trusted, transparent, and globally responsible tourism ecosystem. All members and IAOHTA Global Workforce agree to adhere to the following principles.

1. Integrity & Ethical Conduct

Members shall conduct business with honesty, fairness, and transparency. Misrepresentation of services, pricing, or affiliations is strictly prohibited.

2. Customer-Centric Practices

Members must provide clear, accurate, and complete information regarding services, pricing, inclusions, exclusions, and policies before any transaction.

3. Transparency in Pricing

All costs must be disclosed upfront. Hidden charges, misleading offers, or ambiguous pricing practices are not permitted.

4. Professional Conduct

Members must maintain respectful and professional behavior with customers, partners, employees, and fellow members. Discrimination, harassment, or abusive conduct is not tolerated.

5. Service Commitment

Members must deliver services as promised and strive to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.

6. Responsible Tourism

Members shall promote tourism that respects local culture, environment, and communities. Any form of exploitation or unethical tourism practices is strictly prohibited.

7. Legal Compliance

Members are responsible for complying with all applicable local laws and regulations in their respective countries. IAOHTA membership does not replace government licensing requirements.

8. Financial Responsibility

Members must maintain transparency in financial dealings, including proper documentation, fair refund practices, and ethical handling of customer payments.

9. Data Protection

Members must ensure the confidentiality and security of customer data and must not misuse or share information without consent.

10. Fair Competition

Members shall not engage in unfair trade practices, defamation, or misleading comparisons with other members or competitors.

11. Industry Development

Members are encouraged to contribute to the growth of the tourism sector through skill development, ethical practices, and collaboration.
